WHAT YOU THINK IS WHAT YOU GET…

What you think of yourself and others may be intercepting many of the good things that you can bring into your life.  Thinking and believing negative things about yourself and others will not allow goodness to enter your life.  If you feel you are unattractive, unable to attain success, keep thinking poverty thoughts, not be able to love, are unfit, and not loved – then you will be all these things.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer writes in his book, The Power of Intention:  Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way, indicates that there “are four ways that will prevent you from reaching for and connecting to the universal, creative Spirit of intention.”

1.  Thinking about what’s missing in your life.  To match up with intention, you first have to catch yourself in that moment you’re thinking about what’s missing.  Then shift to intention.  Now what I find missing in my life, but to what I absolutely intend to manifest and attract into my life – with no doubts, no waffling, and no explaining!

2.  Thinking about the circumstances of your life.  If you don’t like some of the circumstances of your life, by all means don’t think about them.  You must train your imagination (which is the universal mind running through you) to shift from what you don’t want to what you do want.  All of that mental energy you spend complaining about what is – to anyone who will listen – is a magnet for attracting more of what is into your life.  You, and only you, can overcome this impediment because you’ve put it on your path to intention.  Simply change your inner speech to what you intend the new circumstances of your life to be.

You must learn to assume responsibility for the circumstances of your life without any accompanying guilt.  The circumstances of your life aren’t the way they are because of karmic debt or because you’re being punished.  The circumstances of your life, including your health, are yours.  Somehow they showed up in your life, so just assume that you participated in all of it.  Your inner speech is uniquely your own creation, and it’s responsible for attracting more of the circumstances that you don’t want.  Link up with intention, use your inner speech to stay focused on what you intend to create, and you’ll find yourself regaining the power of your Source.

3.  Thinking about what has always been.  When your inner speech focuses on the way things have always been, you act upon your thoughts of what has always been, and the universal all-creating force continues to deliver what has always been.  Why?  Because your imagination is a part of that which imagined you into existence.  It’s the force of creation, and you’re using it to work against you with your inner speech.

Imagine the absolute Spirit thinking like this:  I can’t create life anymore because things haven’t worked for me in the past.  There have been so many mistakes in the past, and I can’t stop thinking about them!  How much creating do you think would occur if Spirit imagined in this way?  How can you possibly connect to the power of intention if your thoughts, which are responsible for your intending, focus on all that’s gone before, which you abhor?  The answer is obvious, and so is the solution.  Make a shift and catch yourself when you’re focusing on what always has been, and move your inner speech to what you intend to manifest.

4.  Thinking about what “they” want for you.  There’s probably a long list of people, most of them relatives, who have strong ideas about what you should be doing, how you should be thinking and worshipping, where you should be living, how you should be scheduling your life, and how much of your time you should be spending with them – especially on special occasions and holidays!  Our definition of friendship thankfully excludes the manipulation and guilt that we so often put up with in our families.

Inner dialogue that commiserates about the manipulative expectations of others ensures that this kind of conduct continues to flow into your life.  If your thoughts are on what others expect of you – even though you despise their expectations – you’ll continue to act on and attract more of what they want and expect for you.  Removing the obstacle means that you decide to shift your inner speech to what you intend to create and attract into your life.  You must do this with unswerving intent, and a commitment to not giving mental energy to what others feel about how you live your life.  This can be a tough assignment at first, but you’ll welcome the shift when you do it.

Practice catching yourself when you have a thought of what others want for you, and ask yourself, Does this expectation match up with my own?  If not, simply laugh at the absurdity of being upset of frustrated over the expectations of others about how you should be running your life.  This is a way to match up and become impervious to the criticisms of others, and simultaneously put a stop to the insidious practice of continuing to attract into your life something you don’t want.  But the big payoff is that these critics realize that their judgements and critiques are pointless, so they simply desist.  A three-for-one bonus, achieved by shifting your attention away from what others want or expect for you to how you want to live your life.

As I mentioned, the above passages are from Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s book, The Power of Intention:  Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way.  This book is a great resource to help you reconnect with Source and living the life you want to live through the power of intention and manifestation.  Personally, I have found that this book has allowed me to focus on my inner dialogue and has helped me change that dialogue to a more creative, kind, loving, beautiful, expansive, abundant and receptive one.

IT’S SO DARK and GLOOMY OUTSIDE!

How have you awakened to this new day?  Have you accepted it with open arms and ready to face it with love and positive energy?  Do most of us wake up and start our day off with the following thoughts:

  • “I wish it was Friday”
  • “I hate Monday’s”
  • “Another work week, arrgh”
  • “I wish I could win the lottery and not have to work again”
  • “It’s so dark and gloomy outside”
  • “I hate the people at work and hate my job”

What we are doing when we think like this, is sabotaging our day.  When we wake up with a negative disposition to everything we are essentially saying that we want more of it.  If we keep dwelling on any negative thoughts – you will find that only negative things will happen; you will stub your toe or spill coffee on yourself, you will miss the bus to work or be in traffic longer than usual, your boss will be in a bad mood or you will have to work late.  You will encounter other negative and curt people, you will not have a happy day.

How do we change this pattern?  We can start by changing what we do prior to going to sleep.  Here are some suggestions:

  1. Don’t watch television prior to going to bed, especially the news.
  2. Clear your mind of all negative thoughts from the day prior.
  3. Go for a walk or to the gym.
  4. Meditate.
  5. Read a book.

Instead of waking up with negative thoughts or views about how your day will be – turn it around and tell yourself you will have a fantastic day filled with love and positive energy.  If it is raining outside – embrace the fact that the rain is life-giving and rejuvenating mother nature.  Wake up and remind yourself that you still have the breath of life – you are alive and well.  Sing as you get ready for the day ahead.  Smile and love that you are alive.  Don’t get me wrong – life isn’t easy and we do need to acknowledge that ‘stuff’ happens but it is how we deal with that ‘stuff’ that determines what kind of day, week, month, year and life we are going to have.

This is why MY day will be a successful one:

  • I will treat others the way that I want to be treated.
  • I will not judge others.
  • I will laugh a lot.
  • I will appreciate and give gratitude that our planet allows me to live.
  • I will respect all living things.
  • I will be open and receptive to new ideas.
  • I will be kind and compassionate.
  • I will spread love into our world.
  • I will do these things willingly and without the notion that I want something in return.

MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY TODAY

We really attract what we put out into the universe – THIS IS TRUE!!!  Think about how your day is going – have people been kind, happy and supportive with you or have they been mean, angry and irritable?  Usually, the mood of those around you is a reflection of how you are feeling – so if you are feeling sad, withdrawn, irritable, angry, hurt or annoyed, CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL!!!!

Don’t worry about how others are feeling and how they are affecting your mood – CHANGE THEIRS!!!  If someone is curt or rude – smile and wish them nothing but positive energy and love.  Smile, laugh and stay positive and that is what you will attract.

Do something nice for a complete stranger – buy lunch for the person behind you.  Buy someone a coffee, tell someone they look great, tell someone they have a beautiful smile or just be courteous, friendly and nice.  Share your love, share you smile and share your positive energy and all will be well in your world!

SOME GREAT ADVICE

A few years ago, I purchased Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s perpetual flip calendar based on his best-selling book, The Power of Intention.  The calendar is filled with daily affirmations to keep us focused on bringing positive energy into our lives.  Here is what Dr. Wayne W. Dyer says about the calendar:

“I’ve put together this calendar because I know that intention is a field of energy that flows invisibly beyond the reach of our normal, everyday habitual patterns.  It’s a force that we all have within us, and we have the power to draw this energy into our lives by being the energy we want to attract.”

Today’s affirmation is:

If life is infinite, then this is not life.  Grasping this concept will connect you permanently to the infinite Source of Creation that intends everything.

A few weeks ago – one affirmation really connected with me.  I don’t follow any religious doctrine and don’t really associate myself with any religion but after reading this affirmation, I really felt that it embraced all that I believe, here is that affirmation:

Practice wanting for others what you want for yourself by being Christ-like rather than a Christian, Mohammed-like rather than a Muslim, and Buddha-like rather than a Buddhist.

It is something we all know but rarely think about.  It’s a simple statement that addresses a behaviour and not rules or laws.  If you want goodness in your life – be good.  If you want to attract positive energy – be positive.  It is really that simple and that is a religion I understand.

THE POWER OF INTENTION – DR. WAYNE DYER

From the time of infancy….we have become disconnected to the Source/Universe/God…..we lose touch with the energy that links everyone and everything.  Ask yourself – why are you reading my blog write now?  What makes you read about spirituality or related topics?  The reason is simple – we made our intentions clear that we want to re-connect to the that field of energy  where everything is connected to Source/Universe/God.

Here is a brief summary of The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer:

What Can You Do To Create a More Positive Life?

I believe that we can always improve our lives towards a more emotionally, physically and positive lifestyle.  The journey to this more emotionally, physically and positive lifestyle is not easy and you just can’t ‘wish’ it to magically appear – you must work at it.  For example;  you can’t have a goal to be more fit and just exercise and eat fries, burgers and pizza all day long – you must combine a good fitness regime with proper nutrition in order to become more fit.  Wishing for a more positive and better life will not make that happen – you have to be proactive in your approach to attaining the goals in having a more positive and fulfilling life.  Here as some questions I have asked myself that have guided me (and continue to do so) towards a lifestyle that will create positive change for me and for what I care about:

Am I happy in my job?

I am very happy in my job.  I enjoy the people I work with and am paid reasonable well for what I do.  Having my current job allows me to get the knowledge and expertise I require for what I really want to do in the near future.   Is the reason you have your job to attain more material possessions, to get you out of debt or is it because you are happy and passionate about it?  Ask yourself – do you feel happy when you think about going to work?  If you really and authentically love what you do – you are blessed.  If not, maybe it is time for you to think about what will make you happy and start planning on how to reach that place of happiness and contentment.

I can’t leave my job now…and what I really would love to do isn’t going to pay me enough to live…..

You don’t have to leave your current job to start working towards a life that you authentically want to live.  If this is because you have too much debt – start by focusing on removing your debt.  Do you really need your big house?  Do you really need all the credit cards you currently have?  You will have less stress with less debt.  Do you really need the latest electronics, the biggest televisions, cars etc….is all that materialism going to be conducive to a more balanced and positive life?  Decreasing your debt will allow you to really focus on whatever it is that your are passionate about because you will not have your mind clouded with all those debt distractions.

Visualize – see yourself doing what you love and send that intention into the universe

I see myself living on a water-front property and giving advice on holistic health and natural health remedies to promote healthier living.  I also see myself defending nature and promoting a healthy environment for our planet and future generations.  I also see myself continuing my advocacy for the humane treatment of animals and promoting a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.  I have already achieved half of my goal – I am currently an advocate for the environment, planet and animals by the awareness I create by writing my blogs or sharing information with friends and family.  I am also gradually taking courses that will ensure I have proper certification and knowledge about holistic health.  These are things that began with a notion, a belief and conviction – I visualized it and sent these intentions into the universe and slowly they are taking shape.  I am not putting any pressures on myself in trying to attain a goal of living a more emotionally, physically and positive lifestyle because I believe the process should be as enjoyable as whatever goal it is you want to reach.  Don’t get weighed down by any obstacle along the way instead, ask yourself why the universe put those obstacles in your way, acknowledge them, rectify them and move forward.

Is the negativity of other individuals getting in your way?

Don’t get caught up in other people’s drama or negative behaviours.  Most of the negative things people say about others is usually telling you something specific about that individual.  Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something – we are all capable of doing great things.  If you find that you are surrounding by people who have a defeatist attitude and feel that ‘one person can’t make a difference’ – then maybe you are surrounding yourself with the wrong crowd.  When I am around people who have a negative outlook on life, people who may say things like; “I hate my life”, “My life is so boring”, “I can’t do that”, “we can’t change it so why bother trying” etc…I find that these types of people suck all the good energy out of me, that is why I try to politely avoid them.  There have been many people in my life who only seem to want to create drama and bring negative energy into their lives – I have no regrets that they are not part of my life today.  It is okay to remove yourself from those who don’t allow any light into their lives – just because they live in darkness doesn’t mean you have to.

Do things you enjoy – if you haven’t tried it how will you know whether you enjoy it or not?

I love reading X-men comics, love writing my blog posts, walking with nature, sitting by water, watching movies and animals – I am not limited to just enjoying these things, I do try new things.  If I didn’t try – I would never have discovered that I love to paint.  Don’t be limited by what you think you can’t do without even trying it.  I don’t enjoy heights and am not a fan of being in an airplane but this doesn’t mean I will never sky-dive????  You never know if you don’t try.

Be grateful

I have gratitude for so many things – the relationships I have, my partner, my dog, my family, my job, my friends and my health.  The gratification I feel for these relationships I have is what allows me to work towards creating a more fulfilling and positive life.

In our society – we are brainwashed to believe that the more you have the happier you will be.  It is not the things we have that will define us – it is what we do and how we treat others that will have the most impact on our lives and in our world.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one.

THE POWER OF INTENTION

What is the meaning of intention?  Here is the definition according to the New Oxford American Dictionary:

1 a thing intended; an aim or plan.• the action or fact of intending: intention is just one of the factors that will be considered.• (one’s intentions) a person’s designs

Basically – if we have an aim, goal or plan – we must act on that intention in order for the aim, goal or plan to come to fruition.  Having the intention to win the lottery is great but when you are not buying lottery tickets, you intention just becomes a dream.  If we ask something of the universe – you must be clear and you must look for the signs in order for you to act on that intention.  Louise L. Hay writes in her book, You Can Heal Your Life; “What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us.  I believe that everyone, myself included, is responsible for everything in our lives, the best and the worst.  Every thought we think is creating our future.  Each one of us creates our experiences by our thoughts and our feelings.  The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences”  If we are responsible for all our feelings and actions through our intent – then we can really create intentions for peace, love, community and prosperity in our lives and into our world.  Imagine if we collectively intended for world peace or compassion for our environment?  Imagine how that energy would feel.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has written an amazing book called ‘The Power of Intention:  Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way’.  This book has an excellent chapter called ‘A Portrait of a Person Connected to the Field of Intention’  – This chapter is vital in understanding someone who is connected to Source, God or the Universe.  Dr. Wayne W. Dyer calls these individuals ‘connectors’ and indicates in his book he calls them connectors “to signify their harmonious connection with the field of intention.”

In ‘Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul:  How To Create a New You’ by Deepak Chopra, Deepak writes; “Wait until your intention is clear.  Countless people are looking for motivation in the wrong places.  They seek to increase their energy and drive.  They want the biggest reward.  They lie in wait for a lightning bolt to hit them with the next great invention or business idea.  The real source of motivation isn’t any of those things.  Motivation, the kind that carries seed ideas to fruition with energy and passion, comes from a clear intent.  Knowing exactly what you want to do, with unwavering conviction, is the spark the generates everything else, including the big ideas and the great rewards.  Confusion and uncertainty divide the flow of life into separate, weak channels.  Because a clear intent can’t be forced, many people never find one.  They apply a bit of themselves to half a dozen areas of their lives.  Yet there is no great secret to finding a clear intent; it depends upon simply waiting.”  Clarity, focus and passion will ensure that your intentions will come to fruition.

I have asked the universe for various things – I was focused when I asked and I sent my intentions to Source, God, or the universe and the universe responded.  My intentions are related to my passions in life (environment/animal/human rights advocacy)  and I am slowly and patiently receiving the universes responses and have been acting on those responses – this blog was born out of my intent to create a means of spreading my message to create positivity into our world, that is the power of intention.

I always ask of the universe – I want to be connected to like-minded people.  I want to be part of that great positive energy so that whatever the universe sends to me – I can send it back out with love and compassion.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one.
